This is a proper old favourite of mine. I have updated this recipe four whole times now just because I want the pictures to justify the deliciousness of these bites of heaven. I’ve tried making them with both black and white sesame seeds and both work wonderfully.
When creating this recipe I had just recently started enjoying and liking tahini and its nutty bitterness. So I simply had to create something delicious using sesame seeds especially since I had a massive bag of them just lying in my pantry. As the noob I were back then, I made something very easy and simple, but it turned out wonderful. Since then, I’ve remade these multiple times partly because my mum is obsessed with them. The combination of sweet, gooey, caramel dates, a hearty pinch of salt, and sesame seeds for some extra nuttiness and a beautiful texture really is unbeatable.
If you’re looking for a recipe to help you start liking sesame seeds or/and tahini, I’d really recommend this one, obviously. You can make these in the matter of minutes and then store them in the fridge as quick sweet tooth satisfying snack. Also, making your own bliss balls and such snacks is way more inexpensive than buying an energy/raw bar. Plus, you can decide yourself what you want to put in it. Let you imagination run wild!
I reckon I’ve rambled enough by now, but I hope you all have a great day and give this recipe a go. Enjoy!
And here’s the version using black sesame seeds.
