Have you ever seen an amazing looking recipe to then be disappointed when you realise that they use condensed milk as a main ingredient? Do not worry any longer because I have the solution. Tadaaaa! Pretty nice, huh?
Super simple to make, the only thing that actually takes time is that it needs to simmer (on quite low heat) for around 20-30 minutes.
PrintThe ultimate Dulce de Leche/Condensed coconut milk
- Yield: 150g 1x
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can of coconut milk or cream
- 8 pitted dates*
- A pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix the dates together with some of the coconut milk.
- Put the coconut milk/cream along side with the date milk mixture in a medium sauce pan. Reduce on low-medium heat until it starts to properly thicken. Ddd the vanilla and salt and cook until it becomes a thick caramel. Let cool and enjoy or use however you like!
Notes
* I sieved the date mixture as well to get rid of some of the skin parts, but that was just for the looks.
